CrystalDiskInfo is a storage drive monitoring program for Windows. With this program you can check the performance and status of your hard drives, SSDs, pen drives, SD cards, and basically any storage medium you can connect to your PC, whether internal or external. The program provides a wealth of information about your disks, allowing you to anticipate possible failures and carry out maintenance tasks.

Get detailed information about your discs

CrystalDiskInfo shows you the SMART (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) data of all your storage units. This technology, incorporated by all disk manufacturers, provides fundamental data on the physical state of each disk. When you open the program, you can see all connected storage drives. On the left you can see the general health status, and an approximate percentage of useful life (especially useful for SSD drives). You can also see the temperature, serial number, firmware, interface, letter assigned to the unit, functions, amount of data written, amount of data read, the number of times the unit has been turned on, and the total number of hours the unit has been on.

Parameters that you can observe with CrystalDiskInfo

You can see parameters such as current temperature, total run time, number of power-ups, read and write speed, reallocated sectors, read errors, and many more. If any parameter is showing at abnormal levels, the app will highlight this so that you can identify it and make a backup copy as soon as possible. For example, if there are too many reallocated sectors, the storage unit will become unreliable and should be replaced as soon as possible.

Set up custom alerts and automatic monitoring

Thanks to CrystalDiskInfo, you can set up alerts for when a parameter leaves a given range. If one of the SMART parameters exceeds the normal limits, you can get an automatic on-screen notification or even activate warning sounds. You can also set custom limits for parameters such as temperature or error count, depending on your needs or the type of hardware you are using.

Compatible with a wide variety of devices and technologies

CrystalDiskInfo supports a wide range of technologies and standards, ensuring compatibility with almost any hardware configuration. It can recognize disks connected via SATA, NVMe, USB and RAID, provided that these are correctly recognized by the operating system. It also supports advanced features like TRIM on SSDs, which helps you extend their useful life through more efficient maintenance. It is true, though, that CrystalDiskInfo does not allow you to monitor storage units connected to the network. If you remotely access a server, or have your HDDs on a NAS, you will not be able to view the SMART information.
